Setting up the correct number of pages in a document that will be sent to a commercial printer is critical to the outcome of your project. Both in print- production time and possibly in the amount you will end up spending. Giving the commercial offset-printer the correct page information can make the difference in whether you receive what you expect or a printed piece that must be done over, either by you or the printer. Alterations, re-works and even printer-errors can mean added time and can be costly.
The selection for the correct number of pages in the Page Setup/New Document dialog boxes of your layout program will depend on the following questions:
- Is this a single-sided document, for example, business card, flyer or form?
- Is this a 2-sided document, for example, flyer, business card, form, brochure, or postcard?
- Is this a folding document, for example, note card, letters, invitations, brochure and newsletter?
- Is this a multiple-page document, for example, newsletter, magazine, and books?
